Tradition

Across generations – for the love of wine

Our family winery lies in the historic centre of Wörrstadt, next to the idyllic Backesbrunnen fountain, and traces its roots back to the mid-19th century. After qualifying as a master winegrower in 1992, Gernot Reith gradually transformed the farm into a dedicated winery. For us, 2013 marked the year in which we gave up general farming and devoted ourselves entirely to wine. Since completing his studies in Geisenheim, Johannes Reith has represented the next generation from 2018 onwards, ready to lead the estate into the future. Johannes's ideas and his father's experience complement one another. 

Nature

Our vineyards are diverse, balanced ecosystems.

We have farmed our vineyards organically since 2019. For us, this means working even more closely with nature, the vines and the soil. We adapt our work to each site and grape variety so that every vineyard can show its best.

Wörrstadt, unique in Rheinhessen.

Situated on the north-western edge of the Upper Rhine Plain, sheltered by the Hunsrück, Taunus, Odenwald and North Palatine hills, Wörrstadt is one of Germany's mildest areas and offers excellent conditions for viticulture. Our vineyards lie at an average altitude of more than 200 metres, where cooler temperatures and brisk winds provide valuable freshness in a changing climate.  

Philosophie

Wines & us

In the cellar, we give our wines the time they need to mature. Guided by the principle “as little as possible, as much as necessary”, we intervene as little as possible in their natural fermentation and ageing.   

Our broad range is built around traditional varieties such as Riesling and Pinot Noir, as well as Rivaner and Silvaner. Take a look and find your favourite. Our courtyard festival and mulled-wine evening are popular opportunities to meet us and taste our wines. 

We enjoy being close to our customers, so there is almost always an opportunity to taste a glass. We also arrange guided tastings for groups of up to 20 people on request.
